    FUNCTION

    ‘Bar Wiser 22 T.A./12’ is a twin-head dual-direction stirrup and rebar bender apt to process steel fed in bars. The lower bending unit performs downward bends.

    It is driven by digital electric servomotors.

    DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE MACHINE

    UPPER FEED UNIT

    It consists of:

    2 units driven by a servomotor, each including 4 rollers (2 motorised rollers and 2 pressure rollers).

    The primary feed unit, which is located at the bar feeding point, feeds the rebars into the machine.

    The additional feed unit - which is located near the cutting point and is equipped with a measuring roller – checks the rebar position as far as the output point.

    A pneumatic pressure system ensures that all rebars are pulled by the feed unit without damaging their outer surface.

    Feed speed: 95m/min.

    LOWER FEED UNIT

    It consists of 4 rollers:

    2 motorised rollers

    1 pressure roller

    1 measuring roller

    It is located in the lower processing unit and feeds the rebar to the lower bending head which performs downward bends.

    This unit is driven by an electric gearmotor.

    CUTTING UNIT

    It consists of a fixed blade and a mobile blade which is supported by a stirrup and powered by an electric motor. Fixed blades function as rebar guides and may be replaced within just few seconds.

    BENDING UNIT

    It consists of a rotating and retractable bending arm driven by an electric motor.

    The whole bending unit is lowered or lifted by a pneumatic system thus allowing dual-direction bends.

    Bending rate: 840°/sec.

    CLAMP

    Mobile clamp on 3 axes operated automatically by a pneumatic device which allows:

    • Shifting the rebars from the upper to the lower processing unit to perform downward bends;

    · Automatically removing any off-cuts which should escape check by the feed unit.

    VICE

    It consists of a pneumatically driven device designed to clamp the rebars while they are bent downwards by the lower bending unit.

    COMPUTER

    Industrial computer mod. “KS 104” designed to work in very harsh environments.

    It is equipped with a graphic display and manages all the functions performed by the machine including the following:

    • Programming any stirrup or shape with up to 30 bends from the control keyboard; programmed shapes are immediately displayed in scale;
    • Programming up to 5 different shapes or stirrups on any rebar;
    • Storing up to 500 different shapes;
    • Programming gradually increasing stirrups;
    • Automatic gradual reduction of feed and bending speeds according to the size of the programmed stirrups;
    • “Spiral function”: this function allows setting any shape for continuous automatic production avoiding any intervention on the part of the operator;
    • 3 standard RS 232 / RS 422 / RS 485 outputs allow connection to a barcode reader and an office computer for remote programming and upload of production data through serial connection;
    • Programming the three-armed stirrup collecting robot;
    • Adjusting the bending angle without interrupting the working cycle;
    • Continuous variation of the bending and feed speeds by means of a potentiometer without interrupting the working cycle;
    • Graphic display of the rebar cutting schedule in order to reduce the quantity of off-cuts and to optimise cutting;
    • Choosing among 7 different languages;

    · Trouble-shooting program to detect any failure.
